Every love story is different. Few include scaling the world’s highest mountain during your first year of marriage.

Army Captain Harold Earls and his wife Rachel, the authors of A Higher Calling: Pursuing Love, Faith, and Mount Everest for a Greater Purpose(WaterBrook, June 2, 2020, 9780525653752).  Harold and Rachel are the energetic couple behind the Earls Family Vlogs which has 39 million views and nearly 500,000 subscribers who tune in regularly for Rachel and Harold’s discussions on faith, family life, and love. In addition, the couple has more than 312,000 social media followers.

Harold and Rachel are available to you for an interview as a couple or individually. They can share never-before-told stories and behind-the-scenes events on Everest as well as the life lessons they learned about what it means for a couple to support and sacrifice for one another’s dreams.  Here’s a link to a highlight video of their story.

A Higher Calling is the duo’s first book together and tells the story of their romance and the challenging first year of marriage when Harold’s pursuit to climb Everest deepened their faith, strengthened their commitment to each other, and sharpened their vision to make a difference in the world.

As a West Point senior, Harold, who had no climbing experience, dreamt up an expedition to lead the first active-duty team and combat-wounded veteran to the summit of Mount Everest and simultaneously founded U.S. Expeditions and Explorations (USX), all while bringing attention to PTSD and veteran suicide. Without fully comprehending it, Harold’s mission put his life and his family’s future at risk.
